I definately agree ...Leslie, you make a good point. I definately agree that women are usually ready for marriage before the man (which is why women are always EXPECTING the man to propose in the first place). No matter what, man or woman, there is always a chances of someone not being ready to take that next step. I think that anyone can propose marriage (even though men almost always will) and that there shouldn't be a designated day where it is seen as acceptable for a woman to do it. If a man can do it, a woman should be able to as well without seeming desparate or out of the ordinary.Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15667228675017692730noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5697933780677102689.post-25652886294537504992010-12-08T12:48:08.557-08:002010-12-08T12:48:08.557-08:00The man proposing to the woman is a strong traditi...The man proposing to the woman is a strong tradition that has been carried out for centuries. Changing tradition can be very difficult especially with something as big as a proposal. Women like to feel like they are the apple of their man's eye. Seeing that their man is as committed to their relationship as they are is important to the woman. With as something as special as asking someone to marry you, I feel that the man should be the one asking. Since commitment is usually a huge fear for men, women should not make them rush into any situation they are not ready for. By the time it takes a man to realize he is ready for marriage, the woman has most likely known she was going to marry him a while before that. Men should keep the tradition of asking for the woman's hand in marriage.Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01932762629187882010noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5697933780677102689.post-3805814022448362292010-12-08T11:40:10.693-08:002010-12-08T11:40:10.693-08:00I liked this blog because it talks about the doubl...I liked this blog because it talks about the double standard between men and women. I was discussing this with my roommate just the other night. Even though this is one of the double standards that stand in marraige and proposals i like this one. I do honestly think that a man should propose to a women. The point that was brought up that men are not as thrilled as women to get married so basically why should they be the ones to ask is kind of ridicules to me. If a man cares enought about the women, even knowing he won't be as happy as she will, then he should do it. We are in the 21st century so yes women can ask men, but I know that for myself i would much rather have a man do the asking and then i would do the rest. The weakness shown in both characters in the examples are just for entertainment value and the writers of these are simply trying to make money. I don't believe at all that most women are weak or desperate. I believe that it just depends on who you are and who you want to be with for this gesture of loveTamarahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10446269015080561740noreply@blogger.com
